Given the persona of David Bowie, an appropriate tribute after his early passing recently, has been given by Belgian astronomers. They named a star constellation after this truely unique performer.
The constellation comprises of 7 stars that create a shape of a lightning bolt, which is one of the most famous icons of the well known man.
The concept was a cooperation between a Brussels radio station and MIRA public observatory (Belgium).
It was far from simple to figure out the correct stars. Studio Brussel requested we provide David Bowie a special location in the solar system,” stated Philippe Mollet, MIRA Public Observatory
The stars are in the vicinity of Mars. The constellation is a reproduction of the well known Bowie lightning.
