The Kenyan wildlife trust has put together a project combining the unlikely forces of turtles, Go Pro cameras as well as live streaming online.
As part of the #KenyaLive project, footage was live-streamed of a green sea turtle as it was returned to the ocean
The turtle was accidentally caught in a fishing net and after a number of days of recovery, the turtle was returned to the Indian Ocean – but this time with a GoPro camera mounted on the top of his shell. This video footage from the shell-mounted GoPro was subsequently broadcast on the live video streaming app Periscope.
This initiative wants to bring conservation into the digital age, utilisingl the latest technology to encourage interest in conservation.
